The image above features a Thrips Parvispinus, which the Robtelli RobCam detected on a densely filled catch plate, populated by in excess of 2,000 Fungus Gnats, all detected and counted by the Robtelli AI. The image is from the actual RobCam making the detection. The customer lost produce worth 400000€ in a season due to tha particular subspecies. Having meanwhile been warned this season by pilot RobCams, the customer is installing RobCams in all their greenhouses to avoid future catastrophic losses.
The RobCam pest detector shown scouting for a multitude of pests, The application of RobCams has successfully helped customers overcome severe issues with whitefly and thrips populations, vastly reducing their numbers, to biologically controllable levels.
The customer lost produce worth approx. 10000€ due to thrips in one greenhouse complex, which corresponds to the costs of having RobCams running consecutively for approximately 6 years in that instance. Having now installed 10 RobCams in the complex, the customer is ready for the upcoming Pontisetta/whiteflies Christmas season, and will start saving money straight away, as similar losses will, with the early detection by the RobCams, not occur.

Not all pests are attracted by yellow catch plates. Echino Thrips, for instance, prefer green surfaces. The Robtelli AI has been trained to detect thrips on green surfaces, even in their young stages. The image to the left shows an Echino Thrips detected by the RobCam, one of 21 thrips detected on the same catch plate.
If you currently apply catch plates/glue plates to register and remove pests then - YES - you have in the RobCam found a tool that automates early detection and counting of both pests and beneficial insects. The RobCam works with both color and pheromones and has built-in LED for even greater attraction of the pests and therefore earlier detection.
Aphids, whiteflies, ichnemonoids, sciaridae, ephydridae and thrips all get detected and counted by our AI, and more species are on the way, with lice coming up soon. You'll get daily (or how often you require) reports on the number of insects per species, and since you'll know both the growth in pests and beneficial insects, you can lower your application of chemical pesticides and govern your biological efforts for optimal results for both your company and the environment.
To install, you simply place the unit within WiFi reach and insert the battery for immediate operation, done - plug & detect.
Think of it as a digital adhesive plate, typically yellow, but we can provide alternative colors per your request. The RobCam also works with pheromones. The Robtelli RobCam is a freely placeable unit developed for earliest possible robust detection of pests.
If pests can be detected immediately, they can be addressed BEFORE they cause major damage to the produce. Because of our 3D-printed catch plates securing the insects for robust detection and counting, the built-in LED light attracting insects, and the effectiveness of our proprietary AI, the Robtelli RobCam will offer you earliest possible detection and robust accurate counting of pests and beneficial animals.
Our internationally Patent Applied For, LED equipped RobCam illuminates our catch plates, attracting pests faster than traditional passive catch plates, for earliest possible detection. Given its compact size and weight of 1.7 kg you can, for example, position the RobCam right next to the plants for earliest possible detection. The footprint accommodates placement within pot plant matrices.
For highest possible flexibility of placement, the RobCam is battery powered, needing recharge once every 1 to 2 months, depending on the number of detections required. This is easily managed through battery swapping. Recharge of the battery itself takes approx. 2 hours. As soon as the battery is connected, the RobCam does a detection cycle. This means that you can easily manually set the time of (daily) detection.
Currently, we provide our customers with detections and counts of aphids, whiteflies, ichnemonoids, sciaridae, ephydridae and thrips. More species are continuously being added. Because of the way our AI is designed, we only need a few samples of new species to start robust detection. Therefore, if you have special detection needs, we can quickly accommodate you. The RobCam works with pheromones, as well.
The RobCam uses WIFI to upload its high resolution images to our cloud server. Therefore, stable WIFI at good signal power is required. Technically speaking better than -70 dbm, standard WPA2-Personal, 4G. This can be installed very economically. The RobCam continuously monitors connection quality. If you do not already have sufficient WIFI installation, Robtelli can suggest an economical solution for you.
The RobCam offers a resolution of more than 25K pixels per square mm. This is equivalent of applying a 750MP camera to capture the catch surface. That way, even the finest nuances can be send to our proprietary AI for superior results. We developed our AI especially with the real world situation in mind: The catch plates will see at least some debris, sitting so close to the actual plants. Thus, we developed for robustness of prediction under such circumstances.
After installing an initial batch of RobCams you will, with data from the detectors in hand, be able to determine your exact needs. A sensible starting point: The same number per area as the number of count plates your are currently using.
Our catch plates are 3D-printed in colors attracting the insects and of course recyclable for multiple usage. Gone are the days of wasting precious material. The plates are covered by a film of Eco-friendly adhesive and capture the insects for detection. The catch plates are regularly illuminated by LED light, in order to further attract the insects. Our proprietary AI ensures recognition and robust counting of the collected insects. We are filing patent applications for our AI system, as well, which allows us to find virtually all critical pests and allows for earliest possible detection.
The RobCam has outer dimensions of approx. 14 cm x 28 cm x 34 cm (w x l x h, standard foot
lowest setting), with a standard foot of diameter 14 cm (we do offer various alternative placement and mounting solutions, including a low foot design with total height 26 cm) for easy positioning directly amongst the produce. The standard foot of the RobCam is telescopic such that you can adjust the vertical position of the catch plates. The weight of the complete unit is 1.7 kg.
Obviously, the Robtelli RobCam is designed to accommodate plugged connectivity to future external measurement devices (temperature, moisture, light intensity). We are currently gathering customer feedback with regards to the need for speed of realization. But there is more... stay tuned!
This is customizable and depends on your needs. You simply visit your Robtelli-powered web page whenever you need an overview of the detection results. You can have multiple updates of your web page per day, for instance in the high season, if so needed.
This way, you can at a glace estimate if the area covered by the detector is 'under attack', and how severe the 'invasion' is.
The output of our AI is available in csv format files and can be pushed to your server. This may be the absolute number of insects detected, or the confirmed deltas, depending on your needs.
Robtelli is a startup offering an AI especially developed for robustness. The RobCam pest detector uses a combination of optics, mechanics and deep neural networks to obtain early and robust detection of pests and beneficial insects and up to and in excess of 2300 individuals at a time per detector.
We are here to provide the solutions needed. We earn the trust of our customers through dialogue and ongoing R&D. We synthesize solutions that work for the customers in practice, at a reasonable cost to both customer and Nature.
Our internationally Patent Applied For AImechanical detector that has proven to be extremely effective in early detection of whiteflies, thrips and other pests. We have now also started to offer detection of beneficial insects, for most cost efficient biological application.
April/May 2024: We are proud to announce our cooperation with Horticoop Scandinavia, which will from now on exclusively distribute to the Danish market. More about Horticoop Scandinavia here:
